TO WOMB IT MAY CONCERN
After recently being fired by her last boss, Maud waits expectantly for a job interview at a florist which could turn her life around. But her body has other plans.
Based on her experience of living with endometriosis, Georgia Lovell has written TO WOMB IT MAY CONCERN, a heartfelt and wryly humorous story in which a young woman strives to live her life whilst dealing with the condition.

Julia trained at the Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre and then worked as an actor in theatre in both classical and new writing roles. She was the Joint Artistic Director of the new writing/new work company Weaver Hughes Ensemble from 1997-2009 and began directing theatre in 2007.
In 2010, she founded her company 20 South Street which has evolved into a creative home for collaboration in theatre, new writing and short film.
Julia’s theatre directing credits include fringe and Off-West End productions in London and at festivals in Edinburgh, Europe, and South Africa. She has directed the debut plays of writers Mari Lloyd, Louise Buchler, Laura Stevens, Steven Hevey, and Andy McQuade, as well as the UK premiere of the landmark play by Catalan theatre’s most celebrated writer Josep Maria Benet i Jornet.
During the pandemic, Julia had the opportunity to begin making short films. She directed two shorts for the Connect project by the Jack Studio Theatre and co-produced and directed another short completely online. TO WOMB IT MAY CONCERN is the first short she has produced and directed.
I was sent the script of TO WOMB IT MAY CONCERN when it was a radio play but knew immediately that emerging writer Georgia Lovell had written something special - a story that needed telling as it came from her own experience and a character we could empathise with and root for. Reading the script, I saw the story visually so I worked with Georgia to develop the piece into a short film.
It has been a real passion project to make this short and I feel incredibly grateful to have worked with so many brilliant artists to realise the film. I owe a huge debt of thanks to the School of Film & Television at Falmouth University in particular for their support in helping bring this important story to the screen.
