The film unveils many facets of urbanisation. It brings out the futility of mechanical life, sensitivity of human relationships, values of life...etc. As Covid -19 pandemic spreads all over the world, many families are forced to walk to their villages far away from Bengaluru metro City, during lockdown. Suri, who works in a movie theatre for sustenance, and his wife Sevanthi, a flower-weaving-housemaid have to face many challenges in life while leaving the city and moving to the village. They encounter a wide range of folk including good-hearted people who provide meals and water, a network of child abductors, Jangamaiah who reminds the forgotten values... etc. Sevanthi forgets pain as soon as she realises that the walk is a pilgrimage towards the native and an opportunity to connect with the roots. When Suri's father dies, the family has to face the reality, those people who are with them, walks away out of fear of Covid infection... //

Veeranarayana (Original name: Narayana Swamy), a journalist turned film maker, have seriously studied the possibilities of cinema medium. Born in 1977 in Bengaluru, he was graduated in Literature from Bangalore University, with gold medals. Having a journalistic experience of more than two decades, Veeranarayana, a multifaceted talent, has directed several plays, short films and TV serials and is focused to make world cinemas in Kannada. 'Torchu' is his debut feature film.
‘Torchu’ a fully sync sound feature film is made in 'Visual Narration' style; Lengthy Shots give new experience and some scenes are composed in one shot. Using non-actors, made the film more realistic.
