TJ Huizar author and filmmaker from Arizona, USA. Over the course of many years, he has taught himself over a dozen languages to a high level including fluent French, Spanish, Russian, Persian, and German. With these languages, he travels across the world in search of endangered languages and the stories behind their last speaker. So far, his research has led him to the highlands of Armenia, Egypt, the Navajo Reservation, Russia, and the dense jungles of Guatemala.
He has recently published The Traveler’s Curse, a memoir which retells his journeys through Europe, Latin America, Russia, and Africa, sharing stories about the good—and bad—people he encountered in each land. This first book discusses the unknown costs of leaving it all behind in the name of adventure. He is soon set to publish his second memoir.

Learning languages is merely a side-effect of learning about the nature of our world.
A society’s longevity relies on people journeying into the unknown and returning with ideas.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
