Julian Dieterich was born in Stuttgart in 1996. After various stays abroad, he worked in the production design department for small advertising productions, in the production department on the feature film "Back for Good" and as 2nd assistant director on TV-series for Bavaria television production.
Since 2016 Julian has been studying directing at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
During his studies, he made the short films "MÄANDER" (broadcast on rbb) and "HEDON" (achtung Berlin Festival / Mezipatra Queer Film Festival).
The short documentary "THE VOID INSIDE" deals with the illegal trade of organs in Iran.
Iran and is currently being screened successfully at festivals (Hofer Filmtage 2020 / AISFF Seoul 2020 / Int. Filmfestival Minsk 2020 / Palm Springs Int. FilmFest 2021).
In addition, Julian's fictional graduation film "REIZSTOFF (AT)" is currently in post-production. The mystical drama starring Lea Drinda and Heike Hanold-Lynch deals with
emotional abuse in the context of a daughter-mother relationship.
