THE THERAPISTS (A Richard-Castillo Film)

20 year old, Gabriella Ryder is a therapist who’s gotten bored of dealing with the same 5 clients all the time and their situations: A married couple, Megan and Harrison McConnell, who have been in a dispute as Harrison has recently accused Megan of cheating on him, as their only son, Nelson doesn’t look anything like them. A regular couple, Vincent and Bethany that argue all the time, about the dumbest things.A depressed girl, Caroline who’s always sad about her life because she is new to town, and is having a hard time at her new school. Two best friends, Phillip and Victoria, are mad at each other because Phillip refuses to tell Victoria a secret that he’s held onto for 2 and a half years. A mom and daughter are at a crossroads, as the daughter is obsessed over her phone and technology and whatnot, and her mom has gone to Gabriella for help.
Her colleague and therapist next door, William Newton, has noticed that she has been sick of the same 5 clients, and offers some advice to her, as they've driven her crazy with having to deal with the same problems, and not taking any of her advice for the most part, as her advice goes in one ear and out the other with the clients. He convinces her to give bad advice and make her clients' lives worse as revenge for not taking her advice in the first place. The owner of the company Dr. Frazier, realizes his office has gotten so many bad reviews and has no choice but to fire Dr. Ryder, as most clients are now outside protesting as their bad advice has made their lives worse

Director Statement

"My vision for this film was to have a comedic/dramatic type of spin on things, my way of writing films is always to have a fast-paced, comedic type of journey for the audience to enjoy while also having serious and dramatic moments as well, where the audience can have sympathy for characters. The funny transitions from one scene to the other was a core representation of that, the message of this film is to never fight fire with fire, as making a bad situation worse will never fix what your original problem was." - Amahri Richard
