THE SKIN OF REASON
The Skin of Reason is a psychological short film that journeys through the fragmented mind of a retired soldier, burdened by the invisible scars of his past.
Trapped between waking life and intrusive regressions, he relives the stages of his existence, his imaginative childhood, the chaos of war, the turmoil of lost love, each memory surfacing through dreamlike encounters with distorted versions of himself.
Guided by surreal visions, white angels symbolizing his inner protection, and dark angels embodying betrayal and emotional wounds, he faces an internal odyssey where mirrors, hypnotic pendulums, and shifting landscapes blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.
Along his path, conversations with his "other self" weave existential reflections, from the allure of artificial intelligence to the raw need for self-recognition.
His journey leads him back to his sacred place: the beach a timeless space where innocence once thrived where he finally confronts the essence of who he is, merging past and present into a single, healing truth.
The Skin of Reason is a tribute to the silent struggles of those living with the aftermath of trauma, and a testament to the enduring power of family, love, and inner resilience.
This film is lovingly dedicated to all who fight unseen battles, and to the unbreakable bond I share with my brothers, Gary and Willie, my strength, my home.

I create from the margins. From silence. From the spaces where voices are too often overlooked. My stories don’t seek permission they demand space. They rise from neighborhoods where noise, love, scars, and survival pulse through the streets like a heartbeat. These are the real places my characters are born from. These are the stories that need to be told.
I am an independent creator. I don’t wait for anyone to give me the green light. I build from the ground up: developing, shooting, editing, and delivering my own narratives. My camera isn’t just a tool, it’s my therapy, my protest, and my celebration. Every shot I take is an act of defiance, every frame a chance to speak truth.
As a Latino storyteller, I don’t just represent myself. I represent an entire community, a vast network of creative energy that’s still underrepresented in mainstream media. My goal isn’t just to tell stories; it’s to build a mirrorverse a space where mental health, identity, and community are seen with clarity and soul. Where the struggles and triumphs of people like me are reflected on the screen, and seen by the world.
I don’t come from privilege. I come from places where stories are survival, where success is measured not by comfort, but by resilience. That’s my power. It’s what fuels my passion, my work, and my vision.
From my studio in Miami to global festival stages, I don’t just bring films. I bring a voice with purpose. Local stories that echo globally. Stories that matter. I’m here to challenge, to grow, and to push boundaries. To heal. To speak truth. To tell the untold.
And yes, I dream of winning an Oscar. But not for the spotlight for the opportunity to prove that stories born from the margins, filled with heart, grit, and soul, belong on the world’s biggest stage.
I’m not just a filmmaker. I’m part of a movement. A movement that starts with me, but extends to my brothers, my community, and anyone who believes that creativity has no boundaries.
And this? This is just the beginning.
