Director Biography - Daniel S. Gonzalez

Daniel S. Gonzalez was born in San Diego, California. Growing up in Tecate, Mexico, and attending high school in Tijuana, Daniel has ample bicultural and border life experience. In 2018, at the age of 20, he obtained an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with High Honors from San Diego City College and went on to transfer to the University of California, Santa Cruz, to pursue a degree in Film and Digital Media with a concentration in Production, where he is a Regents Scholar. Working as an intern in One Productions, a San Diego based production company, he has been involved in the writing, shooting, and editing of varied work, including live events, commercial, and promotional material. As a student, he is gaining experience and building his body of work, most notably writing, directing and producing “STEP”, an experimental short film, and “Alumnus”, a short character portrait documentary. Additionally, he has collaborated in two student-produced short films through UCSC’s Film Production Coalition, taking on roles of director, writer, gaffer and sound mixer. Daniel is currently working on more documentary projects as he nears graduation.
