A graduate of the Gobelins School of Visual Arts, Bertrand Mandico has worked for several art institutions in Europe and directed many short films. Two of them, Boro in the box and Living still life, were selected at the Cannes Film Festival and at the Venice International Film Festival respectively, and have won several awards at international film festivals. Inventor of dazzling, crepuscular, humorous and sensitive universes, Mandico’s films reappropriate genres and their conventions. His debut feature film, Les garçons sauvages (The Wild Boys), premiered at the 2017 Venice International Film Festival and won more than ten awards around the world. He’s currently in postproduction of his new feature film After blue while continuing his project of directing twenty-one shorts in twenty-one years with actress Elina Löwensohn, including The return of tragedy.
