Honey Owolo born Anthony Johnson Owolo is a young award winning Nigerian Actor and Filmmaker currently residing in Lagos, Nigeria. He hails from Delta State, Nigeria.
Owolo got his first acting experience from Anglican Church in Akwa Ibom State, where he played the title character “The Popsicle boy” a stage play at the age of 9. He will later be involved in stage plays in his primary school and St Michael College Oleh.
He started acting professionally in 2019 after he graduated from the prestigious Royal Arts Academy in Lagos studying acting, he was that same year casted as Dayo in LOUD the movie which was released to a wild audience through the cinema, acting along side industry big names like Timini, Wale Ojo, Ucheria, Jide Kosoko and a host of others. He gained praises from fans for his performance in the movie as he showcased his dancing ability.
He’s been featured on the Iroko released epic film Edge of Time acting alongside Woman King’s Jimmy Odukoya, Tv series like City crimes and many other films.
He won Actor of the Year award at the just concluded 8th IAN in Delta State.
As a filmmaker, his films have received numerous selections and awards across international film festivals.
He just made a short film “THE RETURN OF ABEL FRANCIS II” as his first project of the year.
He’s currently on tour with a collection of shorts called “The Misters Anthology” The fifth and final film “Baba” was first shown to a large audience in Delta State on the 25th of December, 2022 receiving many positive reviews, according to Copra KarryGod of the NIPD entertainment group “This film is a true representation of the Nigerian spirit, hope and love. It was later shown to the amazing staff and students of Chalcedony School on the 20th of January, 2023 with the date of the next location of the tour yet to be known as he is in discussions with the schools.
