Experiencing Interruptions?

THE IRREVERSIBLE WAY

A very large part of the Turkish minority living in Bulgaria between 1984 and 1989, as a result of the pressures and assimilations imposed by the communist regime, could not stay there any longer and forced migration to Turkey. The documentary deals with the difficulties experienced by Bulgarian immigrant Turks who were forced to emigrate to Turkey at that time, and then the difficulties experienced in establishing order from scratch in a country they had never seen before and did not know, through the eyes of those who lived in that period. The main purpose of the documentary is to describe the struggle and difficulties of the Bulgarian Turks, who experienced forced migration at that time, to establish order again when they came to their homeland, where they were citizens, leaving everything, but had never seen it before, from the mouths of people who personally experienced migration. All the material, spiritual and psychological difficulties experienced by people who were forced to emigrate for reasons that would not be forcibly severed from their order are addressed. As a result, the documentary not only makes viewers witness the past period, but also allows them to see the life experienced in the present through the eyes of the first person.

Director Biography - Sezay Öztürk

I was born on 02.05.1999 in Bursa. Since there are people in my family who are interested in photography, I grew up as a child interested in photography from an early age. I bought my first camera in 2013. After that, I continued to take pictures constantly. Due to my increased interest, I wanted to study a related department at the university. And I won the Department of Television-Cinema at Adnan Menderes University. While I was constantly improving my technical knowledge, I was constantly experimenting with short films, documentaries and photography. At the same time, I provided photography and video services for many businesses as a freelance worker. Currently, I shoot experimental short films, documentaries and photography both as a hobby and as a job.
