Director Statement

My filmmaking began using 8mm and I immediately became entranced by the magic of the moving image. My studies and work have led me how to explore telling of stories using the visual medium. I believe film allows us to enter into a portal of other worlds – both entrancing and challenging us to go beyond our own biography yet at the same time be touched by the universal messages that live on through witnessing the lives of the people we encounter on the screen. I am inspired by the work of Luis Bunuel and Yasujirō Ozu and their ability to transcend time and space through the visual medium.
