THE EXCESSIVE GESTURES OF ITALIANS

The video "The Excessive Gestures of Italians" began as a school project.
The basic idea comes from watching two repertoire works. The first work is "Zero degrees" by Akram Khan Company in collaboration with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui from which was born the idea of gestures as the base of the video. The second one, instead, is an extract from a repertory video by the Portuguese choreographer Tania Carvalho, from which started the idea of discomfort felt by foreign people in front of the gestures of Italians.

Director Biography - Eleonora Guadagni

My name is Eleonora Guadagni I’m eighteen years old and I’m an Italian dancer and video creator.
I’m about to finish my high school studies at Pallc° Performing Art School & Conservatory based in Porto and I completed the two-year course at the Liceo Artistico Statale in Verona following the Audiovisual and Multimedia sector.
I make dance video because I find this new sector extremely interesting and I think that in the 21st century it is of fundamental importance. It is a springboard for dance and the new idea that is being created of it.
