THE ETERNAL SUMMERTIME

In The Eternal Summertime a group of young people appear vacuum packed, waiting for the summer heat to break their lethargy. A voiceover narrates the change of seasons and announces the arrival of summer. “(…) a special time lapse in which an action or event takes place, and you feel the cosiness and warmth of the moment holding you.” That is how they define the warmest season, and it is the moment in which the new spring/summer collection by Keef Palas “Eternal” is shown. The project of this Barcelona based company is developed around ephemeral jewellery, and the film, which also reflects upon the concept of time, has been made ad-hoc for the collection.
When birds begin their migration, leaves begin to fall and the first rains arrive, the characters of this sort of tribe go back to their lethargy vacuum packing their bodies, because as they say: “We only want to live in Summertime”.

Director Biography - MIQUI DIAZ PONT

Miquel Díaz Pont is a young director and professor at ESCAC (Film and Audiovisual University of Catalunya) and has the power to make each one of his works unique. His talent resides in his eagerness to explore both new concepts and formats and in his capacity of giving each project an original narrative.

Miquel connects with spectators in a fast and unique way, something that can be seen in more personal pieces such as ‘Vertical Love’ –fashion film shot in vertical format and 16mm, selected for many festivals such as Cannes’ Young Director Award or Berlin Fashion Film Festival– or his experimentla shortfilm ‘How to cook a pasta dish’, premiered in Nowness, with which there’s no doubt that Miquel has his own narrative and visual style. His latest fashion for Keef Palas, ‘The Eternal Summemrtime’, is also a good example of the talent and exclusive outlook of this young director.
