THE DEMON OF THE WOOD

Davide Santandrea, born in 1966, originally from Ravenna and now adopted by Meldola, is a multifaceted artist. He divides his time among various passions he's had since childhood. One of these is filmmaking, where he's a dedicated director of horror, thriller, and science fiction films. He also specializes in building animatronic characters and special effects, skills he learned in his youth as a student of the famous maestro Carlo Rambaldi, the creator of animatronic characters for films like E.T., King Kong, Alien, and many others. Lastly, Davide is also a writer of horror and science fiction books, which he often adapts into screenplays for his films. Among his recent written works are the first two novels from the vampire saga "SUNSET MOON," titled Sunset Moon and Darkblood, which are available in bookstores and on Amazon. Davide hopes to eventually turn these stories into films.

Since 2013, filmmaking has been his primary focus, first as a writer, screenwriter, and actor, and then as a director starting in 2017. He acted in a film titled Tramonto di Sangue and in the two TV series Ombra del Diario and Thirst, both broadcast on the CW18 channel in the U.S.

His passion for cinema began in his youth, when at the age of 15, he filmed short movies with his cousins and friends using an old Super 8 home movie camera. "They were youthful experiments," Davide says, blushing, "but even back then, you could see my first attempts at making movies." Since 2018, in addition to acting, he's directed the film Tramonto di Sangue and the two TV series aired in the U.S. In 2018, he was also the writer and director of the TV program Oltre L'Ignoto, broadcast on the 7Gold channel. In 2020, he directed the film Horror in The Wood. Since 2020, he has directed eight films in the Join The Evil saga (Uno dopo l'altro morirete!, La Maledizione di Kutu, Il Demone del bosco, La fine dell'Incubo, Join The Evil, I codici del Male, L'anima profanata, and L'ascesa del male).

In 2021, he also filmed other horror and sci-fi short films like Paura di un libro, Memorie di uno Zombie, Io sono un Real Vampire, L'uomo che non sopravvisse al virus, and Join The Dead. He has numerous screenplays in the works, some inspired by his dreams and nightmares, and others adapted from his published books, all set to be turned into upcoming films and short films.
