THE COKE MAN

LOGLINE: A blue-collar worker meets three of Cuba’s best baseball players and changes the trajectory of everyone’s life. Right now, he is just the neighborhood “Coke Man!”

STORY TREATMENT: Eddie Steele to transitions from being a mechanic to a sales merchandiser through his supervisor Evan Stallworth. Evan is part of his extended family because he makes up the fabric of this story. For example: Evan Sykes a.k.a. “Bee High” represents his good conscience he is the motivating factor behind all of Eddie’s successful decisions.
Friends, family and loved ones refer to them as Pinkie and The Brain! Because Evan comes up with all the great ideas but Eddie executes the plan and brings it to fruition. Like the thriving food truck across the street from the Coca-Cola plant.
Like the ice cream truck at Daytona Beach; and then there’s the detail shop Eddies pride and joy, all Evan’s ideas.
Mark Hill represents Eddies bad conscious he has a reputation for being a narcissistic bully. Mark is a former roommate, who left college early to play professional football for the New York Giants. Mark’s first cousin is Evan, once Evan found the Lord, Mark became his advisory. Mark was a teenage father at sixteen, getting. a stripper pregnant in high school and Eddie and Mark’s mother decided to take care of the baby.
Danielle is Eddie’s on again, off again, high maintenance girlfriend, she was introduced by Mark as a “groupie!” But shortly after dating her Eddie fell in love with her.
Danielle networks with other undercover “groupies” to stalk athletes, entertainers, and anyone she considers “high value.”
Her goal is to get pregnant by an athlete, she secretly thinks Eddie is a loser. Her relationship with Eddie is plutonic but once Vonda befriends him Marianne completely submits to him for emotional support.
Eddie’s dream to be an agent takes substance once he meets Scott Skyles, a five-star basketball phenom. Eddie gets Scott to sign with the University of Kentucky. Once there, Scott leads the team to the NCAA championship and they win. Media scandal forces Scott to declare himself eligible for the draft.
Unfortunately, Scott signs with another sports agent and elopes with Eddie’s longtime fiancé Danielle’. Danielle elopes with Eddie’s prize prospect Scott Skyles on national television. It brings Eddie closer to his new friend Marianne Keepo CPA, MBA is a native from Hawaii that works for Coca-Cola corporate in Tampa, she is an accomplished Stanford graduate. She thrives in a white-collar environment as golf amateur but she enjoys Eddies company.
After Eddie tries to recover from this Doris persuades him to travel with Evan to Panama to the Caribbean-All Star game. Eddie meets three of Cuba’s best baseball players and persuades them to sign with him as their new agent. He helps the men to defect to Miami, once there each one signs a major league contract for a team in New York.
Months after soaking in the success of being a self-made millionaire. Unfortunately, Eddie yearns for the camaraderie, and the morale of his last job. He returns to his old job he misses dearly at Coca-Cola.

I grew up in a place called "The Gutter" aka Detroit but I was born in Pensacola which I never claim. I lived in Germany, married in Virginia divorced living in Hawaii. My favourite resident was Bowie, Maryland. Seasonally I live in Orlando.
