THE BONFIRE TALES

Muwanga, an exceptionally powerful oracle, and Nagaddya, an alternative medical practitioner,are set on an adventurous path to become legends.Muwanga is approached by Kato Kintu, a charismatic warrior, to assist with unifying the natives against Bemba the ruthless ruler.Every episode will introduce an educational topic to be learnt from a different African culture. As well as the self-contained stories of individual episodes, the show features long-term story arcs that extend across a whole season or seasons. The episodes are structured into an act-drama structure. A teaser at the beginning and concludes with a denouement. The theme of the show is perceived as a sort of medieval realism set out to make the story feel more like historical fiction than contemporary fantasy, with less emphasis on magic and sorcery and more on battles, political intrigue, and the characters. Magic is to be used moderately in this epic fantasy genre bringing a measure of harsh realism to high fantasy thus introducing gray tones into a black-and-white universe.Picture formatted in high definition, the show is mostly fast-paced quick cuts and vibrant. The show celebrates African folklore and cultural enticing the audience to develop a positive cross-cultural attitude through the showcasing of different African cultures.
