Director Biography - Luis Fernando Aleman

Luis Aleman is an animation specialist known for his remarkable creativity and passion for the art form. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Luis discovered his love for animation at an early age and has since dedicated himself to bringing captivating stories to life through the magic of animation.
Luis's artistic journey began at the renowned New World School of the Arts in Miami, where he honed his skills and developed a deep appreciation for the power of visual storytelling. Initially drawn to painting, he found himself captivated by the process of seamlessly integrating realistic portraits with vibrant graffiti elements, creating a unique fusion of styles that showcased his innovative approach.
As he explored various artistic mediums, Luis's fascination with animation grew exponentially. Recognizing the limitless possibilities of this dynamic medium, he decided to pursue a formal education in animation. With an unwavering determination to turn his passion into a career, Luis enrolled at Florida State University to further refine his craft.
During his time at Florida State University, Luis immersed himself in the study of animation, mastering the technical aspects.

"TAG! You're It!" is my debut animated film as a student director, and it has been an exhilarating journey that reignited my love for filmmaking. This project allowed me to rediscover the essence of storytelling and explore the profound impact that graffiti, a significant part of my life and the culture I grew up in Miami, Florida, has had on my artistic sensibilities.

Stylistically, "TAG! You're It!" is a vibrant and visually arresting film that embraces an in-your-face approach. The use of vibrant colors and dynamic visuals aims to capture the energy and rebellious nature of graffiti art, while challenging traditional storytelling norms. It is a celebration of the resilience and fearlessness of graffiti artists, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in a visually exhilarating experience.

The heart of "TAG! You're It!" lies in a thrilling parkour chase sequence, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Inspired by the adrenaline-fueled nature of parkour, this sequence symbolizes the characters' pursuit of freedom and self-expression. Through dynamic animation and a pulsating soundtrack, we aim to create a sense of empowerment and invite audiences to join in the characters' daring escape.
