Hi, I'm Ryan Berrisford, and I am the Director of Switch. My job is to help re-write the script to a standard our crew agrees on, and to Direct the actors on set, to try and get Actors to perform in ways we feel suit the film itself. A bit about me... I'm a nerd for Sci-Fi and Drama, and little fun fact about me is my all time Favourite Film is definitely... Blade Runner 2049.
See with my work I take many inspirations from my favourite film makers, being Denis Villeneuve and Christopher Nolan. I'm a fan of scale but also a fan of their genius Writing and Directing abilities. Denis Villeneuve created my favourite film of all time, and his vision is so beautiful but dark and serious, and his visual storytelling us genius. (Check out his work - Incendies/Enemy/Prisoners/Sicario/Blade Runner 2049/Dune).
I love Christopher Nolan's sense of scale and sci-fi. His movies are... EPIC but not standard epic, its genius EPIC. And those mind-blowing sequences and storytelling is so talented, and he truly inspires me. (Check out his work - Memento/The Prestige/The Dark Knight Trilogy/Inception/Interstellar/Dunkirk/Tenet).
What I hope to do in the future is to focus on creating more Sci-Fi projects but I am a huge fan of deep, dark or emotional storytelling, that is grounded and beautiful, so I hope in future projects I can Balance the two and create movies that inspire and teach whilst also are visually appealing and have a say in something with its themes.
