Swim Strong

Each summer, New York City's coastal communities are the subjects of unintended drownings. In a city surrounded by water and with more water being thrust upon us due to climate change, the group Swim Strong Foundation teaches affordable swim lessons to the communities who need it most.

Swim Strong examines this issue by highlighted one solution to stopping the drownings.

Director Biography - Paul Frangipane, Liliana Bernal

Paul Frangipane is a photojournalist and documentary cinematographer based in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated with a degree in journalism from Brooklyn College - CUNY and has a news and criminal justice background in print journalism.

He strives to capture the beauty in natural moments and provide creative perspectives on common events. Much of his work focuses on labor movements as well as people's relationships to the natural environment.
