sweet: it used to be my bedroom
"sweet: it used to be my bedroom" is a portrait of the artist and their community. The film follows a queer imaginary figure (played by the artist) in a parallel mythic world dancing in different forms of sugar alongside communal interviews conducted among friends during COVID in the artist's bedroom. In this way, the film experiments with the queer Black body 's movement as an unlikely medium for this community's experience of intimacy, desire and belonging in a place that so often excludes queer people.
