"The Dutch Wadden islands and the islands of the Dutch Delta in Zeeland are regarded internationally as pioneer regions for the transition to a more sustainable, zero-emissions future. These islands have launched a number of large scale projects to realize their ambitions. This film follows a number of idealists from different walks of life on their long and winding road towards their dreams of "sustainability".

Eef de Graaf completed the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen in 1993, followed by an art policy study at the University of Groningen.
Through film workshops led by Frans Zwartjes, among others, she became fascinated by film and video productions. She has been producing films at a professional level since 2000, several of which have been screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and International Film Festivals. She won prizes with her films.
In 2005 Eef won a prize with her own scenario 'De Grijns' and received a working budget to realize the film on 35mm film. Since 2007 she has passed on her knowledge as a film teacher at the Hogeschool and the Grafisch Lyceum in Rotterdam.
Her family brought her to Zierikzee in 2010, where she works as a consultant for the View foundation (Interdisciplinary projects) and the EK Gallery (art, film, design and art education). In her versatile career, Eef has also worked as a reporter for radio and television. The role of frank questioner is good for her, she is working passionately on the documentary Sustainable Islands.
