The Sustainability Film Symposium, created by the UBC Sustainability Ambassadors, is a student-run environmental film festival that will showcase cinematic storytelling to inspire connection and care for our natural environment.

The film festival will screen student and independent films based on the three pillars of sustainability: environment, economic, and social.

The event will run on March 7th, 8th and 9th 2018.

There will be a reward for the best student film. We are currently working on coordinating various sponsors and partnerships such as MEC, a past sponsor, and the Documentary Media Society (DOXA).

Requirements for the student film:
-Must be created by University of British Columbia students that are currently enrolled.
-Short films must be under 15 minutes (including credits)
-Film must feature one (or more) of the three pillars of sustainability:Environment, Social, and Economic
- Films that have previously screened in other festivals are still eligible.
- You will be notified of acceptance no later than January 31st
