Director Statement

Survivors Guilt was made in response to the prompt “A Secret” for an Application to the University of Southern California. Rather than relying on dialogue scenes, I wanted to convey the hidden secret through visual means. The film is meant to portray the eerie feeling the weight of a secret can have on a person. My goal was to explore how this invisible burden, such as having survivor guilt, can affect a person within the two-minute limit for the submission. This film represents my dedication to film and my desire to push myself. It's a very quiet film, but I hope it leaves a loud impact.
