GIRL CAM 2020 : Who is really watching?
I propose to make a 4 minute film which follows the introduction of the 'GIRL CAM 2020’ surveillance system; a walking, talking cyborg who is part-girl, part-camera, created to patrol and monitor our streets.
The film opens to a news report of 'GIRL CAM 2020’, a system originally provided for the elite which is now available and highly sought after by the public. Our reporter then takes to the streets, covering the activity of 'GIRL CAM' cyborgs and interviewing their owners.
As the report comes to an end, the viewer is revealed an unexpected twist to this new surveillance system; the real purpose of 'GIRL CAM 2020’. Her cameras are in fact recording human behaviour for a reality TV show in a parallel cyborg universe, in which humans are the source of these cyborgs' entertainment.
Questions of who is watching who and who is really in control arise.
The film intends to make comment on society’s insatiable appetite for technology and impressionable minds.

Ozziline Bill is a London born visual artist and film maker who currently studies Photography BA at The University of Westminster, London.
The main topic explored in her works is surveillance; questioning the function of surveillance and how society has become accustomed to being monitored 24/7.
Interested in fantasy narratives combined with social commentary, Ozziline's work entertains whilst evoking thought from her audience.
Having shifted my practice from still image only recently, I am finding that I am able to convey the layered narratives and multi-faceted concepts within my work more successfully through moving image.
Evolving from the experimental projects I have worked on so far, my next venture is to create a cinematic and technically well produced film. I hope that by expanding my technical capabilities and putting my visual skills into greater practice, I can transform social questions into realised visual narratives.
