2022: I joined a video editing club last year (2021) at my middle school, LJMS, and have been learning a lot about how to use a software called WeVideo. We found a video contest from the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE Five Minute Film Festival) and I wanted to test out my video editing skills. Their theme was to create a five minute video on the topic of sustainability. I decided to try to make a film about how I could be sustainable now, as well as in the future, and created a story from that. I used a cell phone, a digital camera, a tripod, and my computer with video editing software. I also did the artwork and created a film poster. My film ended up winning first place, as well as several other awards in other film festivals. I decided to make another film this year (2022) for SCOE, with their theme being HEROES. I asked community members through emails if they would like to be a part of my film. I also wanted to make this film an animation instead of a documentary this time. I drew most of the content, created my own gif animations, and used WeVideo once again to create my film.
Overall, I think making this film was very challenging, yet fun and I really enjoyed it!
2021: I joined a video editing club this year (2021) at my middle school and have been learning a lot about how to use a software called WeVideo. We found a video contest from the Sonoma County Office of Education a couple of months ago, (Five Minute Film Festival) and I wanted to test out my video editing skills. I asked community members through emails if they would like to be a part of my film. I also wanted to make the facts that I stated more interesting. I was going to just take a screenshot of an already typed google drawing, but then I realized that it would be more interesting if I recorded myself actually typing it and showing it in fast mode. "How To Be Sustainable" was my first real 'professional' film! My video describes how we can help our planet. Together we can make a positive impact on planet earth! Overall, I think making 'How To Be Sustainable' was very challenging, especially with all of the COVID restrictions, yet it was fun and I really enjoyed it!
