Director Biography - Frank Howell, Alexander J Rose

With a background in music production, Frank Howell has gravitated towards film-making in the last year. Founder of Alpha Shortreels, a loose group of freelance film-makers in the UK Midlands, they have 1 episode and 2 short films already produced since November 2022. Looking to pool together resources Alpha Shortreels provides a platform for each freelancer to work on their acting, camerawork, audio, colour grading, VFX and editing to produce professional film sequences.

As co-director, Alex J Rose is an aspiring film-maker that is building a portfolio of work both in the corporate/advertisement industry and also the artistic world.

With Sunrise/Sunset we tried to strip things back and concentrate on every shot to bring out the beauty of each setting. It's a simple story but the emotions of love and loss will get under your skin as you see how the same day could unravel in 2 different ways.
