Sunny City/Shady People
A surreal action-comedy series set in Miami, Sunny City / Shady People stars Dan Gonzalez and Andrew Schwartz as low level agents at a shadowy, quasi-governmental organization known as “The Company”. The city and its various subsections—Coconut Grove, Wynwood, Coral Gables, Hialeah, Kendall, and so forth—provide a unique backdrop to the untoward adventures of Dan, Andrew, their put-upon manager Courtney (Amarie Lee), jovial street pharmacist Ramon Colon (Mario Mateo), and various characters played by multitalented comedy legend Freddy Stebbins. This pilot episode features Ingrid "The Suarez" and Otto Von Schirach, with musical numbers by special guest Telekinetic Walrus & The Pride of Ions.

Producer/Director Alex Alvarez is half of upstart Miami-based production company Odd Jobs Productions. After briefly attending college in Minnesota, Alex first tried his hand first at journalism; during that time he wrote a few articles about the local Minneapolis music scene. Alex gained his first production position coordinating a ten film project with non-profit Intermedia Arts. Realizing film work in Minnesota was rare, he moved to Florida, where after a stint as a sound recordist, he went on to produce and write numerous award-winning indie features, films, and shorts. He most recently swept the 2016 Miami Life Awards, taking home trophies for Best Director, Best Editing, & Best Cinematography for his documentary "Cuba 1959: Memorias del Cambio".
