My name is Sunil Gurung and I was born and brought up in Sikkim, in northeast India. I have a deep passion for photography and documentary filmmaking.
In 2016, I was fortunate to be chosen for a year-long video documentary Fellowship programme at Green Hub in Tezpur, Assam. It was during this time that I interned with World Wildlife Fund in Sikkim, where I made three short documentary films on present day conservation issues.
● Towards Zero Waste Himalayas
● Cleaning Up a Red Panda Habitat
● Plight of Pangolins
After my graduation in 2017, I started work as a Training Assistant at Green Hub, where I worked, in various capacities, on several films, many commissioned by other organisations. Some of these films are highlighted below.
● Promoting Butterfly and Moth Community-based Ecotourism in the Garo Hills
Director, cameraperson, editor (Meghalaya)
● Fighting the Odds - Protecting Ripu Reserve Forest
Cameraperson, editor (Assam)
