Keisha Davis hails from Greensburg, Louisiana— a tiny town that will one day become famous only because it helped pique her interest in film-making via its lack of anything to do. Davis studied creative writing at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana where she gained modest recognition for her prose (by earning the D. Vicker’s Award in Creative Writing) and her film production work (with the university’s award winning Southeastern Channel.) Davis will be attending Loyola Maramount University’s School of Film and Television this fall where she plans to continue to tell important and even daring stories that the industry often ignores with leading characters who would usually only serve as the drop of color in an assembly line cast.
