Summer Rain

Quincy, an imaginative young girl, spends a peaceful childhood with her parents. However, when her mother falls ill, Quincy has to cope with the changes in her everyday life. She doesn‘t quite grasp the situation and even after the her mother‘s death, as she is confronted with her father‘s grief, she doesn‘t stop seeing the world through her naïve and childlike eyes.

Director Biography - Marlene Low, Julia Krummenacher, Johanna Kern

Marlene Low was born in London in 2000 and moved to Zurich, Switzerland, in 2006. As she grew up, art and music always played a huge role. Her dedication to draw and to paint introduced her to the world of animation, in which she completed her bachelor's degree at the Lucerne School of Film, Art & Design with her graduate film Summer Rain.

Julia Krummenacher is a 2D animator, born 2001 in Lucerne, Switzerland. After attending the Gestalterischer Vorkurs at Lucerne School of Art & Design in 2019, she went on to study Animation at the same school. 2022 she spent a semester in Stockholm, Sweden for an internship at Brikk Animation and Film and then finished her Bachelor in Animation in 2023 with her graduation film Summer Rain.

Johanna Kern is a 2D animator and character illustrator, born 1997 in Winterthur, Switzerland. In 2023 she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Animation at the Lucerne School of Art & Design with her graduation film Summer Rain.
