Sugar morning
9-year-old Eddie is in a Parentification relationship with his mother. This morning he has a secret to tell her. but his enemy- his father, stops him from getting to her with an excuse of her sleeping.
Dad improvises a quick breakfast and rushes Eddie and his little sister Maria to leave the house earlier than they do. All for a "big surprise" he is preparing for them.
Eddie comprehends that his father is "sugar-coating" a deep and dark secret. Something that accrued last night between his parents. Now Eddie has no doubt that his mother is locked up in her room and needs the secret he's been hiding for her in a box.
he tries to get to her without his father noticing.
but he also needs to collaborate with his father, hiding his father's secret from his sister.
The two enemies, each with his own secret, try to draw Maria to his side and yet join forces so she doesn’t get hurt.
And maybe Eddie afraid to open the bedroom door and find out the truth?

Zohar Oryah started her independent filmmaker career as a teenager, while acting in various TV Drama series in Israel. 1997
In those years, Zohar began to write, direct and produce her short films and video-dance.
Zohar played a lead role (under her maiden name Smadar Sayar in IMDB) in the feature film "Close to Home" by Vidi Bilu and Dalia Hagar, TRANSFAX Productions, producer Mark Rosenbaum. the film won the CICIA at the Berlin Film Festival 2006
The same year she graduated from the film and TV division at "Sapir" Collage and started her career as a director, screenwriter, producer and video editor. She created music videos for Israeli musicians, and directed 2 children TV shows
Among her work as a producer and script editor, is the short film "Broken Time", which received a BAFTA Award of Excellence 2006
Zohar received 1st and 2nd Prizes of Exceptional awards, for 2 consecutive years for two of her short film scripts, at The Mickey Albin Outstanding Screenplay Award. at the south film festival in Israel.
"Sugar morning" was financed by the Rabinowitz Film Fund in Israel. In order to promote the debut feature film Zohar wrote about violence and murder in the family, in which Eddie and his family will be featured extensively. These days she is working on turning it to a full length feature film.
Since 2008, Zohar has been working as a consultant and script editor. She is a screenplay consultant in development on behalf of the "Israeli Cinema Fund", a lecturer at the Israeli Film Funds.
