Chris Bollinger is a director and producer based in Southern California. Growing up on Army Posts all over the United States, Chris took up learning about technology, photography, and music as ways to keep himself occupied during the many moves. These interests eventually converged and an extreme interest in film started to grow. He eventually found an outlet to explore this interest in high school, where he was able to work with the school's respected and award-winning television broadcast programs, circulating through every position in the control room weekly for four years. This was conducive to directing, as everyone in the program was able to build a wide variety of skills. He continued this at Wofford College in South Carolina, eventually becoming their first student director for their sports broadcasting department.
From there, he worked in Newport Beach with two small publishing companies before pursuing his MFA in Film and Digital Technology, with an interest in the education and the proliferation of usable consumer equipment in the realm of filmmaking, along with its effects on the landscape of independent film.
Since moving back to California in January 2017, he taught filmmaking and entrepreneurship in classrooms across Los Angeles for 5 years while working on numerous independent feature films in varying capacities, from DIT and on-set editing, to producing and directing. As a result of his latest feature, Sugar, Silence, Everyday Violence, he has elected to pause his educational passions to focus firmly on filmmaking for the time being. In his spare time, he is an avid recording enthusiast, guitarist, vocalist, and semi-competent drummer.
