Director Biography - Chris Corl

Chris Corl is a screenwriter, director, editor, and actor who grew up in Qingdao, China, watching whatever movies he could get his hands on. Quickly gravitating toward fantasy films like “The Lord of the Rings,” he fell in love with the idea of conveying original stories through the medium of cinema. In 2015, he moved to the U.S. to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Cinema-Television at Regent University. His transition from China—his home country—to America was particularly difficult, a difficulty that would inspire the underlying theme of closure behind his latest thriller “Suddenly, Nothing Happened.” Chris currently resides just outside Philadelphia in suburban PA where he writes thriller/fantasy features with the goal of challenging our culture’s preconceived notions about community, morality, and spirituality.
