Subverted Expectations

Originally from Minnesota, Samantha Schacht was a weird, intense kid who fell in love with the transformative magic of the visual medium by watching age inappropriate things like 'Tales from the Crypt', 'Evil Dead', and voraciously reading until she could no longer relate to her peers. Receiving production awards in high school and working in broadcast news and public access, at 22 she and her cat moved to Nevada, searching for new experiences. After a decade spent in a business world fever dream, she took the leap back into production with the female-lead series, 'Secret Identity Show' by Jillian Austin. Between work and independent features, she enrolled at CSN, becoming a first-generation college graduate in 2022. There, she found a niche ADing, coordinating, and casting for peers' films while receiving several awards for her short films, 'Subverted Expectations' and 'Chad'. Continuing to AD and produce projects, she now lurks in her basement like a goblin, pursuing her dream of writing stories with meaning, uplifting new voices, and working toward joining the WGA. Along with the constant support of her partners, Diem Martin and Lance Hopper, without whom none of this could be possible. Let Chaos Reign!
