This festival is free and open to all participants of the Virginia High School League Film Festival.
By uploading your film, you are granting us permission to show your film at student events such as Movie Nights, Fundraisers, Student Screenings, etc.
The primary purpose of the festival is to compile student works to show in the GHS Movie Night fundraiser, but the collection can then be shared with other schools participating. Sponsors should contact me directly for the playlist, which will not be available to the general public.
Our principal event will be on December 9, 2016 in the Kiva of Grafton High School. We will screen one and a half hours of student films, with a break in the middle and presentations throughout.
We are considering a second event, outside, in the Spring, tentatively scheduled for March 3, 2017. This event will include a couple of favorites from the Winter showing, but the majority of the films will be new.
If you have new VHSL Film Festival entries for 2016-2017, you can upload them after the festival in June to avoid any conflicts and they will be added to our schedule for the next school year.
No films will be modified or edited in any way.
Please email with any questions and all will receive prompt responses.
Although this film festival is not endorsed or managed by VHSL Film Festival, we are recruiting those participants to join this endeavor.
There are no fees. We will have participant votes and the winners of the popular vote in each category will be sent certificates. During planning, we will solicit donations for additional prizes to distribute. Thank you for participating and helping student groups to raise funds for competition and equipment.
