Stuck with you

Whether we express it to others or keep it locked inside our souls, the journey of discovering self through our identity is an experience too familiar to all. The world rarely gets to dive into our internal dialogues as we battle with versions of ourselves fighting to be understood and accepted.

To me, Stuck with You is an illustration of this internal journey for the lead, Anisa Butt. The vulnerability and truth laid out through the spoken word resonated with me deeply. Her personal experience as an aspiring actor fighting to bring her dreams into reality; the late nights, the obsessive commitment to mastery, the painful heartbreak passion can sometimes bring; was the main narrative that we wanted to showcase visually.

The simplicity in this, partnered alongside the dark scenes which allow us to enter into the dialogue of her subconscious, aims to take the audience on a journey of seeing her own resolution through the battle of self acceptance.

I hope that Anisa’s story will connect with audiences and allow them to feel seen, feel safe, and not feel alone as they too work through their resolve to self acceptance.
