A film producer and director, Ramasses T. Head, has been working in media for over 20 years. He has had the opportunity to collaborate on projects ranging from crime (Hunting Season), to spiritual (Basketball 3:16), to urban dramas (Watch Phoenix Rise). In his career, Ramasses has worked with a variety of talented people, including Golden Globe Nominee, Tom Sizemore, and Academy Award nominee, Eric Roberts.
John C. Fremont High School's Media Academy gave Ramasses his first taste of using video production. After covering a shoot for a local politician's visit to the school, he went on to work at KDOL, the Oakland Unified School District's television station. There, he directed his first live production at 17 years old. Throughout the years, he has continued working with KDOL to develop educational programming while maintaining a lucrative freelance career. In 2005 Ramasses created History in the Making Entertainment, a full-service media production company, to build a team and pursue larger projects.
He gained notoriety through a successful series of DVDs, capturing elements of the Bay Area lifestyle of car culture and street life. After years working with commercial clients, artists, and community advocates, Ramasses turned his attention towards independent filmmaking. He co-produced Townbiz, an Oakland cult classic, featuring the likes of Too Short and Mistah FAB. The reception of Townbiz opened his eyes the world of filmmaking. Other notable credits include: the crime drama, Secrets of Deception (2017), starring Tom Sizemore and Richard T. Jones; urban drama short, Fools and Babies (2015). His work has been featured on Hulu, Viceland, and BET networks.
As an Oakland native, Ramasses is very involved in local productions and community. He works closely with 360 Total Concept, where he directs Spotlight with Shonda Scott. He is also teaching artist for Youth Beat AT KDOL TV, where he mentors the next generation of media makers.
My Passion.
My Sister's Keeper is the culmination of several years of conception and networking. This is my career passion project that for a long time seemed unachievable. Today it is a reality and I'm thankful for the opportunity to present it to the world.
To the cast and crew.
Most people will tell you that in independent filmmaking you should have just a couple main characters and locations. We broke all of those rules. Without you there is no me. So many talented people gave countless hours to make this a reality. 26 full days of production. Filmmaking in one of the most collaborative art forms. I want to thank every one of you for sharing your talents and believing in me.
