I find it ironic, how lonely a man can be in our interconnected world of the Internet. Along with social media growing popularity loneliness became ubiquitous and usual. It's worth mentioning even the idea of the film has come to me from social media. There was a funny post about a watermelon, ending with a phrase: “Once you will tap it and it will tap back…”. Living his daily routines the main character of the movie suddenly endows an inanimate object with human qualities. Why did it happen? Maybe the stripped is alive in fact… For me, this is a comedy about the loneliness of a person in the modern world.

They are used to declaring in the end of Big Movies, "No animals were harmed during the shooting". Well, we plead guilty as we have killed about twenty of watermelons, considering their animacy on the plot. Most of them passed away accidentally during the shooting of the scene where Nikolai falls off his bike. a Picking dozens of watermelons of one size, shape and color has been one of the most bizzare casting in our professional experience ever.

We would also like to highlight special attention that is paid to several movie`s components. For instance, it is not just warm colors prevailing in the film. Looking closely you can see watermelon`s red & green guise colors in every frame. Its sound is as of alive, the knocks are natural and pass as through cotton wool. And last but not least, is realistic Morse code use in the movie. We have calculated the time of the watermelon ‘speech’ in advance, it turned out that one sentence takes a minute of time, that would not be interesting to watch. In order to maintain credibility we have cut the script. Eventually, the knocks comply watermelon`s speech, and we can tell it for sure as we have learned the Morse code during shootings.
