"Strawberry Shake" turned out to be one ambitious project for me. Not just production wise, but also creatively. It is a story of a father and a daughter. But as a writer and director I was never in the shoes of either of my prime characters. And yet, I wanted to make a film that is natural, organic and as relatable as possible. I didn't want it to feel shallow and this was a big challenge.
Even though the subject is constrained to the geography and demography of the part of my country I belong to, even though the nuances are regional, I have tried to keep the feeling as universal as possible.
I always say that It is easy to complicate things but it is difficult to keep things simple and we as a team tried to make a simple film here.
Hope I reach out to maximum viewers and bring at least a smallest positive outlook in lives of many through this film.
Thank You, Cheers, Salud, Proost and Chaang Bhala!
