Stormy Weather Horror Fest (SWHF) is a female-driven, online independent film festival that celebrates the horror, thriller, and sci-fi genres.

SWHF was created in January 2017 by two horror enthusiasts, Amanda Reno, an Actress and Producer in Atlanta, GA, and Sannah Parker, a Chattanooga, TN based Director and Editor.

In 2016, Sannah and Amanda created their horror short, TWIN (@TWIN_shortfilm) which is currently making its rounds in film festivals both nationally and internationally right now. The primary goal in creating this festival is to engage with other independent horror filmmakers and help get your films seen.

This festival is year-round, with nominations and awards announced each season. At the end of every winter, spring, summer and fall, winners will be chosen in various categories. Winners for Best Horror Short, Best Horror Feature, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Outstanding Female Filmmaker will be featured on our website and social media (@stormyweatherHF), and once your film is available to the public, please reach out to us, and we will be happy to link your film to our website, www.stormyweatherhorrorfest.com

A great festival ran by people who genuinely care about independent film and horror. It was an absolute honor to be included in such a great lineup and to be nominated for two awards. Will definitely be submitting again and again.

This was great; we got nominated in a bunch of categories, which I was surprised by, and ended up winning in two. It was great to be nominated. Great festival!

They do a great job in promoting a genre that is ever evolving. They are also to be commended for promoting ladies not only in front of the camera, but behind it as well.

  • My experience with the Stormy Weather Horror Fest was a fantastic one! I am so honored to have been a part of this cool, new festival with my post-apocalyptic, horror/comedy feature film called "HOUSED." The communication was stellar; Amanda and Sannah were such a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be submitting again. Thank you so much!
