River Restoration Northwest (RRNW) is excited to announce that we will be hosting our sixth annual ‘Stories of Our Watersheds” film event. The initial film screening will be held in Portland, Oregon on October 3rd 2019. Our events feature a series of short documentary films that celebrate the different ways we experience, sustain and celebrate our river systems. Subsequent screenings are being planned in Seattle and other locations within the Pacific NW with the potential to feature selected films on our website.

RRNW is seeking films that are entertaining, educational, and inspirational. Films should be documentary style and not be commercial in nature. Submitted films should acknowledge the many disciplines, perspectives of the river or watershed restoration industry, watershed stakeholders and river users. We are encouraging films that focus on the theme of Changing Course: The challenges we face, the measures we take, to adapt to the critical changes looming in our climate, political, and social systems.

Films from the west coast of North America are preferred but are not a requirement. We have received and selected submissions from around the world. Visit our website for a list of films that have been selected in the past: www.rrnw.org

Run times of 10 minutes or less, per film is preferred, with a maximum length of 20 minutes.

River Restoration Northwest is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization. Our mission is to advance the science and standards of practice of river restoration through an interdisciplinary approach.

Selected films will be shown in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington with the potential for additional screenings in the Pacific Northwest and sharing featured films on our website.

An audience selected best in show award will be given at the Portland Event.

Filmmakers of selected films are encouraged to attend the screenings and will receive two free ticket to the Portland screening and one free ticket to any other screening of the event films. We also provide opportunities for a question and answer session at the event.

Submissions must be received no later than the Late Final Late Deadline on midnight. Late entries will not be accepted. By submitting this form, you acknowledge these regulations and RRNW's right to copy any submitted material, and to utilize your performance and image for RRNW's non-commercial use.

I state that I am authorized to submit this film to the RRNW Film Event for consideration and have read, understand, and agree to all the requirements. I agree that I have secured all necessary rights for both picture and sound, and exhibition will not violate or infringe upon any rights including but not limited to music, images, and content. I further grant RRNW the right to use clips from the film at the event or online for promotional, archival, and other non-commercial uses. I (We) grant RRNW permission to broadcast the work, use my name and image, and to license, distribute, duplicate archive or otherwise promote my work (as a produced film) for educational and/or non-commercial purposes as RRNW deem appropriate.
