===> PLEASE READ: As of March 25, 2019, we have SUSPENDED SUBMISSIONS. After watching submissions, we found that more than 80% of films submitted to our series did not meet our qualifications. Due to this, we are replacing our current submission process with a more enhanced version, and will be disqualifying all films that have been submitted thus far.
If you wish to submit, PLEASE READ THE RULES AND OUR MISSION in its entirety. If you believe your film meets the above criteria, and should be reconsidered, send an email with a thoughtful message as to WHY you film should be considered (spelling and grammar are important). Include your film title, running time, and the names of any festivals you have previously screened. Your message will be considered, and we may extend a password to submit for further consideration.
STOP HATE WITH FILM — is a library of short films about overcoming Antisemitism, Bigotry, Racism, Sexism, Homo/Transphobia, and/or Immigration/Diaspora issues.
Selected films are made available to festivals worldwide as specially-curated 90-minute showcases, or may be individually selected for use by programming teams.
There is no submission fee to be considered. However, three parameters are required:
1. Films must be under 25 minutes. No exceptions.
2. At the time of submission, the film must have previously premiered at another film festival. We do not accept world premiere works.
3. The Film MUST be about overcoming AT LEAST ONE of the following:
Antisemitism — hatred towards Jews
Bigotry — hatred of any person because they are not part of the "norm"
Racism — hatred based on skin color or ethnicity
Sexism — hatred of women in the workplace or home
Homo/Transphobia — hatred towards the LGBTQI community
Immigration/Diaspora issues — hatred of refugees or displaced persons
We have found that more than 8 out of every 10 films are not appropriate for our mission. For example, just because your film has a woman lead character does not mean your film is about sexism. If your lead character is discriminated against because of her gender, then the film would qualify. Just because your film features people of color in minor roles, that does not qualify your film in the categories of racism or bigotry. Just because a character is LGBTQI, that does not make your film about homo or transphobia.
All submissions are reviewed and selected by Jon Gann, the creator of the DC Shorts Film Festival, the Sunderland Shorts Film Festival, founding board member of the Film Festival Alliance, author of two books about film festivals ("Behind the Screens: Programmers Reveal How Film Festivals Really Work" and "So You Want to Start a Film Festival), and consultant and programmer to over a dozen film events a year.
Festivals who have committed to screening either a showcase, or to use the library for programming include:

- San Francisco IndieFest
- Port Townsend (WA) Film Festival
- HollyShorts (Los Angeles)
- Three Dollar Bill Cinema (Seattle)

Films will be included in a library accessible by participating festival programmers for consideration in their events. Some films will be programmed into special showcases for public screenings at partner festivals.
At this time, there are no cash prizes or jury awards. Selections not available as DCP will be professionally converted for future use by filmmakers.
