Elena Lola Leszczynska was born in winter on Sakhalin Island in Russian Far East in a family of geophysicists. Because of her father job in various scientific stations they very often changed places they live: Moscow, Murmansk, Gelendzhik. In 2004 Elena graduated from Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy. After that she got married and moved to Poland. In 2009 she was awarded Polish Film Academy Award “Polish Eagle” for role in feature film “Little Moscow” (Mała Moskwa). In 2014 Elena was graduated with honors from Warsaw Fine Arts Academy - class of professor Roslaw Szaybo (Media Art Faculty) and class of professor Rafal Kochanski (Graphic Design Faculty). Her diploma work video-art “So, I am the world” was shown in Contemporary Arts Centre “Zamek Ujazdowski” in Warsaw. She is professionally active both as an actress and visual artist (set and graphic designer).
“I do not want to limit myself with any of profession I do here in Poland. I cannot afford it in Poland. As an Actress I have not so much work I wish to, but emigration is probably an important test for the creative person and at the same time the opportunity to become much stronger. Circumstances forced me to struggle to survive and to create projects for myself, that in my natural environment - in Russia, perhaps would not even come to my mind. Comfortable life circumstances for development and creativity are probably not for me”.’
