Helen is a writer, director and cinematographer based in Naarm, Australia. She works in narrative and documentary film, music videos, as well as commercial projects.
In 2016 she co-founded the creative film production company Wendyhouse Films, where she continues to work as a director, cinematographer and producer.
Helen is a creative writer and screenwriter, with a particular passion for comedy and drama. In 2021 she wrote and directed Stick A Fork In Me (2021), a dark comedy short which premiered at Flickerfest. It went on to screen at several international film festivals and won awards for Best Female Director, Best Short Film and Best Script.
Stick A Fork In Me is an off-kilter dark comedy short.
The film was inspired by a news article I read, in which a man reportedly served up his own recently amputated limb to his friends.
Diverging somewhat from the true story, Stick A Fork In imagines the worst case scenario - a cautionary tale of mixing friends and cannibalism.
