Steps

Village. People gather near one house. In this house, everyone is bustling about, preparing food. Then a bunch of people gather in the field. In this field, children line up, who come to run
for Maksat’s celebration. Maksat’s legs are tied with a rope. The boy then, who was the first to reach Maksat, cuts the rope and Maksat begins to take his first steps. He starts taking his
first step, staggering a little. The transition to walking mature, already elderly legs. These feet walk across a deserted field full of thickets. Silence. You can hear only the singing of birds and the rustle of leaves. Maksat sits on the ground, looks around, breathes in clean air. Sighs. He thinks about how many regrets there are in his life but one big regret that he has is the love of his life that never happened. Maybe it’s the last time the main character went out into the field so he tries to remember and analyze how that phase of his life affected him in the future. He has these flashbacks that bring him back to that time. He sits in this field alone and this silence and his loud thoughts press on him. He throws his head back. Closes his eyes and hums a song. Suddenly, a female voice begins to sing along. Maksat opens his eyes, smiles and the song continues to flow from the lips of the souls in love.
