Before the pandemic I was a playwright, with plays published by Smith & Kraus and Applause and produced internationally.
During the pandemic, my Broadway mentor suggested that I study screenwriting. My first screenplay, OUT OF THE FLAMES, won the Grand Prize of the Kairos Prize for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays, including a $15,000 award, as well as the Grand Prize (Drama) of Screenplay Festival and a $500 award. OUT OF THE FLAMES also won 1st Place in the Hard Faith Festival in Hollywood, and placed in Page Turner Screenplays-Faith Based, Table Read My Screenplay, Burbank International Film Festival, Pasadena International Film Festival, International Christian Film Festival, and others.
My next drama feature screenplay, GRAHAM, won First Runner Up in the Beverly Hills Film Festival and placed in Page Turner Screenplays-Faith Based, Launch Pad, New Hope Festival, Pasadena International Film Festival, Sherman Oaks Film Festival, and others.
I received a scholarship to be mentored by Tyler Thompson, writer of THE CHOSEN, in Greece at the The Good Word Writers Retreat in June 2023. On the way to Greece I stopped in England to visit the locations in OUT OF THE FLAMES, including Oxford University, Lutterworth Church and the Saltwood Castle dungeon (where my historical characters were imprisoned).
I returned to the Retreat in 2024 and was again mentored by Tyler Thompson, as well as by literary manager Audrey Knox.
My works are clean, hopeful, and joyful, and feature musicality of language. I am looking to get my screenplays produced.
