A published author, a screenwriter with many feature film scripts waiting to be discovered. I am also a Mother, a wife, a Nana and a lover of life, speaker and activist.
Having overcome tremendous adversity that has birthed a passion to help women and children rise from pain to power, I believe “passion is something born from loss”, and I embrace this wholly. My first book, “IF ONLY I COULD SLEEP” (released 2013)” IS a journey that is my humble life - a journey shared for the sole purpose of empowering women and children.
My work has been on the behalf of children that includes travels to Bonfil, Mexico in support of the local orphanage, and Maua Village, Kenya, and Butare, Rwanda in support of the Orphan Empowerment Program and have actively supported Global Colors Organization; Genesis Women's Shelter; Hope's Door and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocacy).
The former owner/operator of an Independent Bookshop and Cafe’ in a restored, old historic Collin County Jail, in McKinney Texas and member of the American Booksellers Association.
My dream is to leave a legacy for my children, grandchildren even great grandchildren who one day may find themselves sitting around at a family reunion and talking about life, when someone says…
“you want to remember someone who lived life with passion and never gave up? No matter the circumstances this woman found absolute power from not allowing the pain to control her and loved fully without conditions, judgment or fear. She wrote a book about it, she writes feature film scripts about and her hope was that when you read them, you’ll be astounded at the way she fought all obstacles of abuse, illiteracy, neglect and loss. Even the loss of custody of a child and how she fought daily to prevent that relationship from suffering. She did what she had to...sometimes sacrificing her own moral code to survive, kept searching for love even if it broke her heart time after time. She is someone to learn from and the reason we have a strength we would not have without her being a part of all of us. - we all have part of her running through our veins.”
