After studying cinema, music and art and teaching herself how to use inductive sensors, solar panels, DIY amplification circuits and processing systems to broadcast sounds, Castonguay has coupled her academic background with her DIY ethos. Her work has been presented in Montreal and abroad: Biennale Internationale d'Art Numérique (CA), Eastern Bloc (CA), STEIM (NL), Athens Digital Arts Festival (GR), Musica Ex Machina Festival (ES-PV). She has been in residencies at NAISA (CA), perte de signal (CA) and as part of the Immersion Program at Pixfilm Collective (CA). She has performed in various festivals such as Sight & Sound (CA), Ibrida Pluri II (CA), Instruments Make Play (NL), Code d’Accès (CA), Tsonami (CL), MUTEK (CA), Espacio Fundacion Telefonica (PE), Lux Magna (CA) and Suoni Per il Popolo (CA). Most recently, she was one of the recipient of the Collaborative Found Award from the Digital Arts Initiative AMPLIFY.
