Initially, I planned to shoot a documentary about my aunt's journey from Kazakhstan to Russia, to the grave of her grandfather, who died in the Second World War. But when I arrived at the shooting in Petropavlovsk (Kazakhstan) in 2016, I saw her son, my cousin Sasha, with whom we had not communicated for several years. Sasha was a heroin addict. With his appearance in the frame, the focus of my film has shifted. I have followed his life for four years and this is his story.
A story about the life of drug addicts in Kazakhstan and Russia, about their relatives, their struggle, about the difficulties they have to overcome in order to change their lives.
