Morgan Dukes is a director, writer, and producer from Ypsilanti, Michigan. She found her love of storytelling as a child when performing in her school musicals. She then transitioned to stage managing and assistant directing for theater, which ultimately led her to film. She started her filmmaking journey in 2021 when she directed, produced, and wrote her first film The Pointe which screened at multiple film festivals including the National Film Festival for Talented Youth and the Pacific Northwest Ballet Dance Film Festival. Morgan then dived into the episodic space to direct two episodes of Start Up: Palmieri Tech with Filthy Filming Productions. Since 2021, she’s directed four short films, and two episodes of a web series, and has worked on the crew for several short films produced in the greater Seattle area. She’s excited to continue directing and telling stories. She’s especially passionate about coming-of-age stories that highlight the unique experiences of growing up as a Black girl in America.
